The NVVTC Engineering committee will be generating a cost estimate for phase one of the Vine Trail. Until then, a rough rule of thumb is that a multi-use trail costs $1 million a mile. Our first phase is 22 miles so our best guess is that it will cost $22 million. We hope that half of this cost can come from state and federal sources.
Ongoing maintenance is estimated at $250 thousand per year including trail patrols, upkeep, insurance and an amortization for trail resurfacing every 9 years.
